Concertmaster (in residence, 1 position)

Duties:
Main duties are to play next to the First Concertmaster.
First Concertmaster’s duties are also included.

Audition Repertoire

1st Round Audition:

1) One of the following concerto (1st movement) with Cadenza from;
Mozart: Violin Concerto No.4 or No.5
*after resume screening we will specify one concerto which applicants should play.
2) Orchestral Excerpts

2nd Round Audition:

1) Beethoven: Violin Concerto, 1st movement with Kreisler Cadenza
2) Orchestral Excerpts

3rd Round Audition:

Performing as a member some concert projects with the orchestra after February 2025. Approximately 5 concerts are expected, including projects conducted by the Music Director. Dates to be negotiable.
The performance fee will be paid in accordance with the orchestra's rules and regulations.

Audition Schedule and Venues

1st Round Audition:

Monday, November 18th 2024, 11:00～
Classic Space★100(1min from JR Sobu Chuo Line Okubo Station, north exit)

2nd Round(Final) Audition:

Wednesday, December. 4th. 2024, 18:00～
Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall(Directly linked with JR Kawasaki Station)

How to apply

Please fill out the TSO audition application, which can be downloaded for free, and send them to the address below, no later than 18:00 October 4th, 2024(Japan time).
Sending by only email is not accepted.

Others

●Resume screening will take place before 1st round audition, also during the auditions and after the auditions, no inquiry for the result, please.
●Please arrange your own accompanists.

Condition

●The initial salary for a permanent member (in a case of a 22-year-old): JPY259, 000/month (gross amount). For a person with experience in a professional orchestra, the experience will count towards his/her salary.
●A permanent member is paid in the form of salary. The amount of the salary and that of the bonus may vary reflecting economic situations and other factors. The amount of the bonus will change based on the length of service.
●Applicants who pass the audition will be employed for a probationary period of less than 12 months before being offered a permanent member.
