An Ode to Nature: Rich Sounds of Scandinavia and Bohemia

In April 2024, the first collaboration between Sakari Oramo, a leading Finnish conductor, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra resulted in a concert that left a vivid impression and received great applause. The program included works by contemporary Finnish composer Rautavaara, Sibelius with soloist Anu Komsi – both specialties of the maestro – and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8, often called his Pastoral Symphony.
This CD is a live recording of that performance, where the maestro’s skillful baton beautifully draws out the rich ensemble and musicality of the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, captivating listeners with the lush soundscapes of Scandinavia and Bohemia.
Please enjoy this ode to nature, brimming with vitality and vigor. (Octavia Records)
