Tokyo Symphony Orchestra SDGs Initiatives

Tokyo Symphony Orchestra endorses the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the United Nations and is committed to working towards the achievement of the SDGs.

We provide classical music concerts for all ages.

  • – Kids Program~Orchestra from 0 years old ~
  • – Subscription Concerts for Children
  • – Music classes and visiting classes at elementary and junior high schools
  • – Touring performances at welfare facilities, hospitals, schools, etc., mainly in Kawasaki City.
  • – Invitation of Kawasaki City residents to Subscription Concerts at Matching Gift Concerts (2021).
  • – Regular free live broadcasts on the niconico,
  • – The sale of discounted tickets for disabled individuals and student tickets for individuals aged 25 and under.

Setting goals through multiple collaborations

  • – Partnerships with the cities of Kawasaki and Niigata to provide opportunities for music appreciation.
  • – Participated in the Green For All KAWASAKI.
  • – Produced “Kawasaki Kumikyoku” in partnership with the British Council and Drake Music, a British arts organisation, in a project to improve access to music for people with disabilities.
  • – Produced original products with studioFLAT to support artists’ financial independence.
  • – Free live streaming with Dwango Inc.
  • – Performed at charity concerts to support the activities of international charities.
  • – Collaboration with support Corporation working on the SDGs.

SDGs

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are international goals for a better world by 2030. They were set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was adopted by all UN Member States in September 2015. The SDGs consist of 17 goals and 169 targets. They aim to help everyone on the planet.
